Mauritius Work and Residency Permits
Mauritius offers an investor and hassle-free business environment to start and
operate an economic activity. In addition, Mauritius welcomes non-citizens to
acquire immovable property and to work and live in Mauritius.

Integrated Resort Scheme (IRS) Buyers
Buyers of villas and other properties under the Integrated Resort Scheme automatically
obtain a Mauritius Residence Permit upon purchase of immovable property.
Mauritius Occupation Permit (Work Permits)
Investors, Self-employed and professionals are eligible for a Work and Residence Permit,
called the Occupation permit, enabling them to work and live in Mauritius for at least 3 years.
The Occupation Permit is issued by Mauritius Government within only 3 working days.
The eligibility conditions are as follows:
• Investors- Investors should generate an annual turnover exceeding MUR 3 Million
• Professionals- The basic salary of professionals should exceed MUR 30,000 monthly
• Self-employed- The business income of the self-employed should exceed MUR 600,000 annually.
Non Citizen Retirees
Non-Citizen retirees are eligible for a Residence Permit provided that they can show proof of sufficient
funds transfer (US$ 40,000 annually) made to their local bank account to cover living expenses
in Mauritius.
Permanent Residency in Mauritius
Investors, professionals, self-employed and non-citizen retirees are eligible for a Permanent
Residence Permit in Mauritius valid for 10 years and renewable thereafter, provided that they satisfy the following conditions:
• Investors must have generated an annual turnover exceeding MUR 15 million for 3 consecutive years.
• Self-employed must generate an annual income exceeding MUR 3 Million for 3 consecutive years.
• The professional must have earned a basic monthly salary exceeding Rs 150,000 for 3 consecutive years.
•The non-citizen retiree must have transferred at least USD 40,000 every year for at least 3 years.
